Fast isn’t always easiest 💨

In every pregnancy someone said to me ‘I hope you’ll have a speedy birth!’

And so I did with my 3rd….

🔥 at 9.30pm my waters broke
🔥 at 10.15pm I started having mild contractions
🔥 he was born at 12.30am

If I am honest I found my 14 hour labour with #2 a little easier. There was time to get used to the contractions, ease into the labour sensations. I slowly got used to the next level of intensity and could get into a rhythm with my breathing and visualisation

In my speedy 3rd birth there was no time for any of it and I felt I was thrown in the deep end.

Beautiful nevertheless but definitely not easier

Your fear is valid and it’s there for a reason

But your fear of interventions is not actually the problem here

🔥 Stay with me on this one, I promise you’ll get so much out of this 🔥

Most of us are simply blind to why the fear is there in the first place. If it was as simple as educating yourself about your rights & options during birth and say NO to any unnecessary interventions pushed on you, we wouldn’t be here talking about the elephant in the room.   It’d be a matter of ticking the boxes and knowing you can say NO on the day. End of the story

❌But that’s not how it works….

✅ You fear all these interventions being thrown at you in labour as your unconscious knows your blind spot is pleasing people and the second your doctor says ‘It’s safest to intervene and speed up your labour!’ You’re going to jump and say YES OF COURSE   There goes that empowered birth you desire…  😵Ouch, hearing that probably feels uncomfortable. I know….I learnt the hard way in my first birth

🔥But BOOM we have found your blind spot and what’s really stopping you from having the empowered birth experience you desire. How amazing is that!   As it means we can change that!   We don’t need to change who you are. We simply need to uncover the ports of you that you like to keep hidden and learn how to respond in situations, that bring out your shadows, in a different way.

So that you can stand in your power during birth and be the most audacious and courageous version of yourself, no matter what.

Giving birth has EVERYTHING to do with your mind(set).   Yet still so many people see birth as a physiological , sometimes purely medical experience that can be controlled and managed.  I totally get it. When I was pregnant with my 1st baby 13 years ago, I saw birth purely as a physiological event.   But birth is so much more than an experience in your body.   Birth is the most incredible and expansive experience and it is the gateway to a new chapter in your life. Who you are in labour is simply an extension of who you are in the rest of your life  Your mind plays a huge part in how your birth unfolds.

➯ Where your mind goes, your body follows.   ➯ It is your mind that decides whether you jump into fight or flight mode (hello adrenaline, hello fear!) during labour

➯ It is in your mind where the constant chatter happens during labour such as ‘How much longer?’ and ‘I can’t do this any more!’  ➯ It is your unconscious mind that reveals suppressed parts of yourself during intense situations like birth.   ➯ It is your mind that is the most powerful tool in your preparation for birth. As this is where you store your fears and your shadows that ,if being ignored, will surface during birth and stop you from having your desired birth outcome  🔥The great news is that you can do all the work leading up to birth so that your mind and body can work in harmony.
